NBC will formally announce the shows they've picked up for the autumn next week on May 14th. Ratings for Raines were not overwhelmingly positive (mainly due to the fact the show was bumped to Friday nights, a notoriously bad night for any show) and while every fan of the program is waiting on tenterhooks for what seems to be an inevitable disappointment (check out the official message board for Raines and you'll find the vast majority of topics there are bemoaning the loss of the program, begging NBC to reconsider, and raging against the powers that be) no one should start shedding tears yet.
Instead you should take these last few days to let NBC know exactly how you feel about the show and how much you want to see it renewed for the upcoming fall season.
How great will summer be knowing we'll be getting a fresh weekly dose of Jeff when the weather starts to cool off again?

Hi there! A fellow Goldblumite here. I found your blog via YouTube in the "Jeff on Ellen" video. :o)
I'm one of those that's hoping that Raines sticks around, but having been burned by the networks on many a favorite TV show, I'm not holding my breath. I'm actually guilty of bemoaning its demise before knowing for sure one way or the other.
I have written in to the network though. It would be a shame to see such a wonderful show shucked to the wayside. I think the character of Michael Raines is wonderfully complex, and that this is some of Jeff's best work in ages.

Hi Katie! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I agree with you about the character of Raines and I really believe it highlights aspects of Jeff's acting abilities that many people aren't aware of. He's so well known for his work in "big blockbusters" that many people aren't aware of the fact that he can play so well in quiet, intense, character-driven stories.
